WCMH Technically Advanced Personnel (TAP) Program FREE

The T.A.P.s program is an excellent way to explore the career possibilities in the health care industry. Participants walk away with knowledge of the entry level skills required in almost all health care fields.

 

Fee: Free

Where: White County Memorial Hospital

When: Course begins June 7th and lasts for 5 weeks

Time: Monday - Thursday from 8:00am to 3:30pm

Attendance: Participants can only miss 2 days before being removed from the program. All missed material will need to be completed prior to completion of the program. The last week of the program is the Job Shadowing week.

 

What do I learn in TAPS?

  • Begin to learn about medical terminology, abbreviations, diagnostic tools, and the equipment commonly used in the health care industry.
  • All participants will become Health Care Provider CPR and First Aid certified by the completion of the program.
  • Participants have an opportunity to shadow a variety of Health care Professionals
  • Find out what it takes to receive an education in the field of your choice. Develop a plan to achieve your goals of becoming a Health Care Professional

 

How do I qualify?

  • All participants must have a diploma or GED
  • All participants must be able to pass a Urine Drug Screen and a criminal background check
  • Please have a copy of your shot record. If you haven't had a recent TB test, the hospital will provide one for you.
  • If interested, please complete an application to the program. All applications must be received by April 30th, 2010

  • Anyone wanting the skills to get an entry level position in the health care industry
  • Anyone wanting to learn the basic care giving skills required to care for a family member in times of need
